The institute hosts officers from the US Army War College

The institute hosted officers from the US Army War College as part of the Eisenhower Series. The series was established to encourage civil-military discussion during the Vietnam War, and today serves as a forum between active service military and universities.

Joining us for a roundtable and open discussion were Colonel Paul Rob Haertsch, an Australian Army officer and former Defence Advisor to Fiji; Lieutenant Colonel Christiana Crawford, a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve operational planner and Western Europe Foreign Area Officer; Lieutenant Colonel Frank Hartnett, a Public Affairs Officer in the U.S. Air Force and former Public Affairs Advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force; and Colonel Leon J. Perkowski '93, Assistant Professor in the Department of National Security and Strategy at the U.S. Army War College and Director of the Eisenhower Series College Program.

Chaired by Executive Director Dr James Patton Rogers, the roundtable focused on the value of alliances in a new era of geopolitics. The speakers described nonlinear career paths held together by a shared appetite for learning, drawing on experience that ranged from pursuing several degrees to working with defence attachés and at the highest levels of defence politics.
