Junior Fellows awarded prestigious Laidlaw Scholarships
Cynthia Tan and Danyal Hyland Hassan were appointed to the Laidlaw Leadership and Research Program, working with the FBI's Cyber Division and on a NATO-funded project respectively.
Junior Fellows Cynthia Tan and Danyal Hyland Hassan have been appointed to the Laidlaw Leadership and Research Program as Laidlaw Scholars. The highly competitive programme promotes ethical leadership and international research.
Supervised by Executive Director James Patton Rogers, and supported by fellows Jon McCandless, Judith Germano, and Amelia Arsenault, both were able to undertake policy-focused research over the summer months.
Cynthia worked closely with the FBI's Cyber Division in New York. Dan worked on a project funded by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme, alongside research into semiconductors.
In 2025 Laidlaw will fund both scholars to conduct international research abroad.
