Institute awarded NATO funds for drone project
The NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme awarded $65,000 to analyse the development and use of military drone technologies across air, land, and sea.
In April the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme awarded the institute $65,000 to analyse the development and use of military drone technologies across air, land, and sea.
The project is led by drone experts Dr. James Patton Rogers and Dr. Dominika Kunertova, and forges a transatlantic partnership between the institute and the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.
Work will run through a series of Advanced Research Workshops, bringing together policymakers, academics, industry leaders, and military practitioners to identify the factors that may drive the proliferation of land, air, and sea drones in the Third Drone Age.
The project will engage the highest levels of policy, giving NATO members and partners insight into the doctrinal development of drone and counter-drone capabilities.
