This hub builds resilient policy frameworks for the essential digital and physical systems that underpin national security. Our work leverages the Cyber Test Range to identify hardware vulnerabilities, fortifies the Semiconductor Supply Chain through empirical network modeling, and ensures Data Centers are governed by policies that balance responsible development with economic and social impact.

Research nodes

Semiconductor Supply Chain Security

The Semiconductor Supply Chain Security node, funded by the Department of Defense, fortifies the semiconductor ecosystem by analyzing both hardware and software vulnerabilities within the supply chain. It develops an empirical network model using financial data to map supplier webs and pinpoint critical bottlenecks.

Cyber Test Range

The Cyber Test Range, supported by a generous grant from Craig Newmark Philanthropies, actively analyzes cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities critical for cyber civil defense. Driven by a team of military and veteran researchers, alongside undergraduate research support, the Range pioneers security research and tool development in critical hardware.

Data Centers

The Data Centers node analyzes the complex policy challenges surrounding data center deployment and operations. We focus on ensuring responsible development through effective regulation, evaluating their economic impact on local and regional economies, and fostering social engagement to benefit host communities and mitigate environmental concerns.
